A man’s worth is measured by how he parents his children. What he gives them, what he keeps away from them, the lessons he teaches and the lessons he allows them to learn on their own.
There are so many other ways that society measures the success of a man. The size of your income or the prestige of your job title are just two of them. I’ve often asked myself how much such criteria really matter. It is nice to have such things, but I don’t think our Father in Heaven is holding us to these standards. Instead, I think He uses standards much more like what you see in this quote, and it would be good for every father never to lose sight of that.
