It is a father’s responsibility to teach his children. When necessary, use words. Most children don’t like being lectured to and are not likely to take such a lecture to heart. If, however, they see your positive habits and attitudes day in and day out, they’re more likely to emulate the lessons you’re teaching through your actions.
You have to be careful though, because this works both ways. They can easily emulate your bad habits as well. Some of the same excuses I’ve used to say why I couldn’t give my son a cup of juice or something I come back out of his mouth to say why he couldn’t clean his room.
