Day 177: A Kiss a Day ‘Til Christmas

One of the fun traditions in my house that I have continued with my own family is called “A kiss a day ‘til Christmas”. My mother constructed a long piece of wood that she painted and put enough little books across it for each member of the family.

We then laid out a big sheet of plastic wrap for each person and placed 24 Hershey’s kisses along its length. We rolled up and tied off each section with a little bit of yarn or ribbon to create 24 individual compartments. In this way we could open just one section of the string of candy every day from December 1 until December 24.

This acted as our own personal advent calendar, and something to look forward to every day leading up to Christmas.
